A New Era.

What an emotional and inspiring day. I always thought at the end of the Bush presidency I would want to post a litany of all the disastrous policies and downright criminal behavior of his administration. However my new found optimism and anticipation has nulled the anger and frustration that I have experienced and processed over the past eight years.

I also have so much going on in my personal life that I do not think I will be able to blog so much about politics. Like many of you my family is also facing some major challenges, many of which have not been clearly identified. Adele is over a year old now, almost 13 months, and while she has made some progress with her therapy, some of our online research has opened our eyes to some frightening possibilities.

I realize attempting to diagnose her is not the best for own mental health. Ultimately the neurologist will have to give us an answer and with that appointment still weeks away all we can do is speculate and educate ourselves.

We are very lucky to have such loving family and friends to rely on. No matter what Adele is a blessing we are prepared to face an unpredictable future with her and for her. Like her brother she is full of smiles and makes us laugh every day, and that is all we need.

I hope I am being melodramatic.

Peace and Love.

President Cake

Anne saw this at Fancy Cakes by Leslie in Bethesda. I like it, but why is Bryant Gumbel on top doing a Michael Jackson impersonation?

Washington D.C.

My wife is in the nation's capitol tonight. She sent me this photo from her phone. The inauguration is only a week away. She will be home by then and I am glad because we miss her. She does not have to travel that often but things are not the same without her. Strangely the kids behavior has been good. And Sam has been able to eat my cooking. Today he saw a school bus and yelled at it "wait for me I want to go to school!" I will have to remember that, I hope his enthusiasm continues. He should start kindergarden this fall.

Hey Ho! Let's Go!

Just wanted to show off Adele's onesie from our friends Rachel and Brandon. She is finally big enough to wear it, and just in time for the upcoming inauguration. I am not good at taking pics with the camera/phone. We tried to get her to smile but you can see she was not in the mood.

Best Movies 2008

I have been searching for best movie lists for '08 and the only one I found so far is Harry's Picks For The Top Ten Films of 2008!!! from Ain't it Cool News Check the link for is reviews. I added my own two cents.

MAN ON WIRE-A recommended Documentary. The Twin Towers and a tight rope.

10. BURN AFTER READING-Saw it, not the best Coen film but they can't all be masterpieces (Fargo, Lebowski, NCFOM) but absolutely a top ten for '08 considering a guy like me who is lucky if he saw 10 new movies this year.

09. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE- Have not seen it, heard good things.

08. PINEAPPLE EXPRESS- I don't know. Drugs are bad M'kay.

07. MILK-Want to see it.
