My last Post for old '05.
2005 was a big year for us, our son had his first birthday, we moved back to Michigan after four years in Kentucky. I started this Blog, and I must say I enjoy having a place to vent my opinions and frustrations as well as show off photos of my child. Reading my friends Blogs has been awesome and I hope they continue and that more friends and family start their own. I'm glad to report that I stayed smoke free for 2005, it will be two years next April that I quit. This new year I would like to quit fast food. I travel with my job and I eat out too often. I still have not started running again, its been over ten years. I also have that novel I'm never working on. I plan to get involved in some sort of political campaign in '06. Now that we live in the capital area that should not be too difficult. Maybe I'll go to church tomorrow.
One thing I'm for sure of is I need to see more of my family and friends this year. Hope to see you all soon

I would like to close the Year 2005 with some quotes I stole from Blogs on Huffington Post. (My comments are in parenthesis)

To me, the big event of '05 was George Bush demonstrating that the Era of Small Lies is over.
But not small thinking. Isn't it stupid that he always has to try to appoint a Texan to everything? Attorney General, Supreme Court, education...is Texas where the great minds all are now and I missed it?
I would take some pride in saying "I told you so" to the people who just this year realized what a bonehead he is, but it was so fucking obvious from the beginning that I just can't!
Maybe next election, people will start to think, who gives a damn if I want to have a beer with this guy?
-Bill Maher.

I resolve that I will install a television set in the Oval Office and turn it on and watch in the event of a natural disaster.
-Nora Ehron
(Trouble is, when is Bush in the Oval Office? Better put a T.V. in his Golf Cart. Perhaps he could listen to Fox News while clearing brush at Crawford. If it's not too distracting from all that Vacation.)

From masquerading government propaganda as local news segments to torturing prisoners to illegal wiretapping to lying a nation into war the runaway Bush administration is presenting the American people with two choices, tyranny or liberty. Despite the long odds, I feel that liberty will, eventually, win out.
-Trey Ellis

(I have high hopes for changes in government and policy in 2006. I also hold deep fears toward the approaching new year as I can only expect to learn and witness more of the strip-mining of our nation's promise and integrity by corrupt politicians and corporations.)

(My wife suggests I cheer up.)

Currently Listening to The Killers. My brother Alex got it for me for Christmas, I would like to take credit for both my brothers great taste in music as I subjected them to Alternative music back when Alternative was cool. We were really surprised and pleased to get an iPod from my parents. It really nice we put photos of Sam on it and it is really clear. I also put over 4000 songs on it from my personal collection. I'll have to figure out how to pod-cast music on my Blog, if that is possible.

Hope Eveyone had a fantastic Christmas. It was great seeing everyone, and hearing from everbody. Hope to see you all soon in 2006! Here is a photo of an early Christmas Present from Great Aunt Leanne. I think Sam was a suprised by the size of his new friend at first, but he came around and gave Mr. Reindeer a Big Hug. I'll have to get a photo of that. I will have more photos of Sam soon.

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

On the 25th anniversary of John Lennon's death, I'm just reflecting on his philosophies and world view. Now that we are once again in the quagmire of a poorly planned and deluded war, we could benefit from a strong discerning voice for peace.

I added a new link under Watch Dogs. The Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington is a sight worth taking a look.

This Week the Idiot Wind Blowing goes to Fox News for there coverage of "The War On Christmas." Fox News has become News for People Who don't like News, or better yet, News for those who don't want to know. Now that most Americans have come to the realization that we were lied to about Iraq, Fox News and other corporate controlled competitors are trying to distract us with stories about missing white girls and this new Liberals vs. Christmas bull$#!t. There is no liberal attack on Christmas! However, there are some that are aware that we are a diverse society with many different faiths and ideas. Some may choose not to call it a Christmas Tree, or may instead wish one happy holidays. It is a simple right of speech and not an affront on anyone's tradition. Christmas was not a National Holiday until almost a hundred years after we became a nation. In some parts of the country Christmas was banned because it was seen as European and/or it offended Fundamentalist Baptists and other Christians. I suppose if Fox News was around back then they would accuse Baptist of hating God. The Christmas Tree has little to nothing to do with Jesus or Christianity and has become a secular symbol. But the Idiot Wind continues to blow between the ears of the Fox News enthusiasts.

I call it a Christmas Tree. Merry Christmas to you. Now can we please get back to 24-hour coverage of missing white girls from around the world. It's not like there is some major corruption or unethical war going on.
