The Skunk and Tiger

"Ignorance breeds monsters to fill up the vacancies of the soul that are unoccupied by the verities of knowledge."-Horace Mann

It is Saturday and that means it is time for this week's Idiot Wind Blowing. This Quote is actually two weeks old but Fox News has been trying hard to down play it or SPIN it. Here it is unedited and SPIN FREE. From what used to be the only talk radio choice for me when I worked in Kentucky- The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: Hey, you know, if you want to ban military recruiting, fine, but I'm not going to give you another nickel of federal money. You know, if I'm the president of the United States, I walk right into Union Square, I set up my little presidential podium, and I say, "Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds. Fine. You want to be your own country? Go right ahead."

And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead."

----I believe this is what Ted Copple was talking about when he explained that the American public has become intellectually lazy.

I agree most Americans today do not seek analysis in news, they only pick and choose sound bites and simplistic answers to very complicated questions, often siding with the one who shouts the loudest, or does not challenge their insecure and small world view. Is this why it has taken so long for Americans to wake up to what is really going on in Iraq?

President Bush, his chicken-hawk administration, the corporate run media, and their blinded supporters continue to hide behind the Troops, the Children, and the Flag, while dismantling here what they claim to be building over there.
