Today's Tragedy
I do not know how to blog about what happened today at Virginia Tech, or if I should even try. I don't believe in comparing tragedies but there were thirty some people killed in Iraq today. The terror that happened today in the United States happens in Bagdad and other areas of Iraqi on a daily basis. We just got through a week of pointless media frenzy over Imus and his racist statements and now we will have to hear about who this murder or murders in Virginia was for God knows how long. All the while the spotlight will be off of the colossal failings in Iraq and the blatant corruption in the Bush administration. Inappropriate as ever, Dubya had to get in his "people have the right to bear arms" statement. It has not even been 24 hours yet, and he has to get a pro-gun quip in. What an ass.

I agree with you about not comparing tragedies, but I too can't help but feel frustrated that no one thinks about Iraqi college students or civilians in the same way. Here's a good editorial (from a Pennsylvania newspaper) on it: http://tinyurl.com/2pzftj
