9/11 and More rants
Well it is 9/11 six years later, and on a tuesday just like it was in 2001. I am so frustrated with the fear mongering, greedy GOP and the Democrats inability to get out from under their chicken-hawk propaganda. I have been paying close attention to these recent hearings with reports from Gen. Petreus and the new Iraq ambassador. Every-time we reassess "success" in Iraq I swear to God they (GOP/Bush) change the mission statement. The occupation and latter the surge was originally sold to us as a way to get the Iraq government together. Today they are selling it as a success in the 'War on Terror.' Hoping we will ignore the fact that there is no unity government and the only reason for the minute decreased in violence is because the civil/sectarian war has segregated entire populations. In our military gets used as a police force and personal guard for US Oil companies. Most Iraqis do not want us there and see us as part of the problem. Many in Iraq feel attacking our troops is justified.
It is time to leave.
People have lived and governed in this region for seven thousand years, they do not need our help or guidance.
I am sorry to be ranting so much lately, but then again who reads this blog anyway. I do want to add that Rep. Duncan Hunter of California and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen's of Florida unfair and inaccurate depiction of MoveOn.org's ad in NYTimes was just more grandiose show boating. George Bush hides behind these Generals, and we have had lies delivered to us by the military leadership in the very recent past, so it is absolutely fair to question this report and this General. I love how the republicans will not provide our troops with safe and functioning equipment or ensure they get proper training and medical care, but they will stand up when a General's feelings might get hurt.
My representative, Mike Rogers is another fear monger who just can not wait to attack Iran, as proven in his recent op-ed piece. Rogers continues to turn a blind eye to Saudi Arabia's involvement with Al-Queda in Iraq and exaggerates the threat of Iran.
Check out Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
I'll try to calm down now.
