Dave Cockrum 1943-2006

Another comic book legend has been lost. Dave Cockrum one of most recognizable comic book artists died last week. Cockrum co-created the All New All Different X-Men. Without him the comic book world would not have Nightcrawler, Colossus, or Storm, and Wolverine may not have become the powerhouse character that he is today. I remember when I first read Giant Size X-Men #1 reprinted in my Marvel Masterworks edition, his ability to express raw emotions and maintain suspense in a two demential medium has yet to be duplicated. I doubt it ever will be.
